Outside Shakespeare’s Rose Theatre there is an authentic Shakespeare’s Village, with ‘wagon’ entertainment, and the best food and drink from Oxford Fine Dining. Access to Shakespeare’s Village is free of charge, so stay a while to enjoy this ambience.

The village pond, farm wagons and carts, and an array of vintage farming implements set a rustic rural scene, while tables and benches around the Village enable visitors to enjoy the atmosphere. Plan your perfect evening, by arriving early to purchase the tasty food and delicious drink options al fresco.

Shakespeare’s Village offers some of the finest local street food to feast on, which includes Shorthorn Beef Burger, Spiced Chicken Skewer and vegetarian options. As well as a coffee kiosk, there is also a Pimms & Fizz cabin, where you can enjoy a glass of prosecco in this wonderful setting. There is also a range of hot dogs to purchase from Posh Dog including wild boar, as well as refreshing ice creams. There are soft drinks and a fully-licensed bar housed in the oak-framed and reed-thatched ‘Bear Arms’ pub. To save time in the interval, don’t forget to pre-order your drinks before the performance starts for collection during the break.
